  • Polish School of Mathematics

    Scientific community active at the beginning of the 20th century with most notable representatives working in Kraków, Lwów and Warsaw, including  Marian Rejewski, Stanislaw Ulam and Stefan Banach.

  • Maria Skłodowska-Curie

    Polish scientist who conducted pioneering research on radioactivity. She was the first woman to win a Nobel-prize, the first person and the only woman to win it twice. Moreover, she was the first woman professor at the University of Paris.
